Run
Your Business, Run Your Life The
Simplest Shopping List Part 1. By Robert Lett.
I've tried many different shopping lists within the last four years. Some
have so many whistles & bells that you almost have to read the manual to
operate them! Some people really like these programs, many have good points, but
those good points sometimes make the program a little more difficult to operate.
The whistle & bells. Well, they got some programs that actually allow
you to enter the price of what you picking, so as you run through the store, you
know approximately how much it's going to cost for what you have so far. "I
only go shopping once every other month, if I used that program, instead of
taking me an hour, I'd probably still be there when the lights turned off."
Other programs allow you to enter stuff in that you normally get every
time you go shopping, that's a nice feature. This way milk, butter, eggs, etc.
are always on the list and you don't need to worry about adding them. Of course
for me, it would look more like, beer, pizza, cheese, milk, cookies, beer, etc.,
just kidding!? Did I mention beer?
Some of these programs even have alarms that will go off when it's time
for you to go shopping! Hmmm, I usually just go shopping when there is nothing
else in the house to eat. That's an alarm within itself!
The most difficult one I found had some really great ideas, maybe too
many great ideas. It allowed you to enter in prices for items you buy. This
would automatically put the price in when you entered the item at home. Then it
would ask where the item was located in the store. "This IS a great thing
for guys, most of us aren't very good at finding things in store. Well, we do
know how to find the beer section!" After you have used the program for
about four or five times and entered all the data it asks for, it actually is
nice to use. At home, when you realize you need something and you enter it in on
your list, the program enters the price next to the item and puts it in an order
where you can walk from one side of the store to the other, and be done with
your shopping! Now that is nice, mainly for us guys. But it's a pain to get
setup. And all your work comes crashing down on you when you go to different
store! Just hope, if you spent all that time setting the program up, you don't
move to another location. And of course, that's goes for the store closing and
moving either. I figured by the time I could get that program completely setup
running, the store would go and rearrange the whole thing on me because some
marketing guru company told them that nothing was in the right order.
